The Maybank Cycling Series 2024, held on September 13-14 at Sunway Bigbox in Iskandar Puteri, was an exhilarating experience for cyclists and visitors alike. BMX Johor was honored to be invited by the organizers to participate and introduce the thrilling sport of BMX racing to a new generation. Our team organized a series of exciting activities that captivated attendees and fostered a love for cycling.
Introduction to BMX Racing
One of the highlights of our participation was the "Introduction to BMX Racing" workshop, designed for young enthusiasts aged 5 to 15. In this engaging session, participants learned the fundamentals of BMX racing, from basic techniques to safety tips. The joy on their faces as they hopped on their bikes was priceless!
Airbag Jam Session
Next up was the highly anticipated Airbag Jam session. This activity allowed riders to test their skills in a safe environment, encouraging creativity and fearlessness. With an inflatable airbag to cushion their falls, participants showcased impressive tricks and stunts. The atmosphere was electric as cheers erupted with each successful jump!
Bunny Hop Challenges
The Bunny Hop Challenges drew in a crowd eager to witness and participate in this classic BMX trick. Riders of all skill levels took on the challenge, demonstrating their technique and determination. It was a fantastic opportunity for everyone to improve their skills while having fun and competing for small prizes.
Best Wheelie Competition
Finally, we capped off the day with the "Best Wheelie" competition, which was a crowd favorite! Participants showcased their balance and control, striving to impress the judges with the longest and most stylish wheelies. The camaraderie among riders was heartwarming, as they cheered each other on and celebrated each achievement.
